Steve Scarbrough, 63, of LaFarge, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011 at Vernon Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Rapid City, South Dakota to Richard and Faye (Anderson) Scarbrough. He married Phyllis c. Thompson on Nov. 4, 1972.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969 (Germany) and from 1980 to 1991 as a Huey Pilot and a Night Vision Flight Instructor. during his life he followed several professions: contractor, solar contractor, farmer, commercial designer, artist, computer technologies. His family and friends, reading, learning, building, traveling were his passions. He was a scholar and philosopher.
He is survived by his wife: Phyllis; one brother: Larry Miller of Rockford, Ill. ; and 2 sisters: Mona (Miller) Roberts and Jackie (Gibsen) Stephenson, both of Rockford., Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at 1 PM at the LaFarge Free Methodist Church. Mark Phillips will officiate.
