Janeen I. Strait, age 66, of La Farge, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, following a long battle with health issues. She was born in Viroqua on April 22, 1945, the daughter of Deverne and Effie (Mossholder) Olson. Jeannie was united in marriage with David Strait on December 28, 1971. They raised their family together on the family farm in rural La Farge-she was truly a professional mother and grandmother. She particularly enjoyed mushroom hunting, Christmas with her family and Friday night trips to Wal Mart. Jeannie’s heart and soul was her children and grandchildren, who will miss her Sunday dinners complete with homemade noodles. She was another Mother to many. Survivors include

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents Deverne and Effie Johnson, by an infant son Dennis; an infant sister Diana Lynn, and siblings: Karen Lawrence, Valerie Tunks and Robert Bruce Johnson; her father in law Robert Strait; brother in law Phil Strait, and great nieces Natylee Geary and Ashley Strait.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the La Farge Free Methodist Church. Pastor Mark Phillips and Bonita Dorschied will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday, October 10,2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM or on Tuesday from 1:00 PM until service time. The SELAND HUSTON FUNERAL HOME is assisting the family with their arrangements.
