Ricky Dale Boldon, 54, of LaFarge, died Sunday, December 9, 2012 at the Gunderson Lutheran Hospital. He was born January 2, 1958 in Hillsboro the son of Patricia Boldon. At nine years of age Ricky lost his mother to cancer. He was adopted by his maternal grandparents Dale and Nita Bolden. Rick often commented that he could not have had a more loving upbringing. Upon graduating from LaFarge High School, Rick was employed with Nuzum Building Supply working in LaFarge and Westby. He later continued his sales career in Richland Center with United Building Center which was bought out by ProBuild. Rick’s delight was working on his farm and with his cows and cutting wood. Rick relished his work, his play, and his rest. The power of a motor was never ending thrill. Any motor would do, whereas his passion was motorcycling. In 2000 a relationship of twenty years with his significant other ended. At this time Rick gave himself to the only Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. In March of 2008 when cancer became a part of life Rick met it all in the grace and strength of Jesus. He said that God made him tough. To God be the glory. July 8, 2012 Rick was united in marriage to Sheryl Billings. In their gift of five months together they packed all the joy that two people can experience. December 9, 2012 at the age of 54 Rick departed the body to be present with his Lord. He wanted to live, but he also had the peace and contentment of God’s good timing in all things. Rick is known and loved for his pure simple enjoyment of life and people. He wanted to express his gratitude to each and every one who stepped in to help with the details of life in times of illness. Thank you to Dr. Cole and all the staff of Gunderson Lutheran, Richland Center Hospital, LaFarge Medical Clinic, and LaCrosse Area Harley Davidson of Onalaska. Thank you to his caring family.

We mourn but not as those who have no hope. “And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has that life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.” (I John 5:11,12 NAS) Those who have the Son rest in the love and goodness of their Heavenly Father and look forward with “done deal” hope knowing the best is yet to come.
