Fern Wilder, 77, of La Farge, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. She was born October 9, 1932 in Richland County the daughter of James and Ester (McElhoe) Coggon. In December 1951 Fern married Verlin Wilder. She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, sewing, and playing bingo and euchre. Fern loved spending anytime she could with her family.

Fern is survived by seven children, William (Cheryl) Wilder of Coloma, WI, Elizabeth Roberts of La Farge, Cynthia Dodge of Chesapeake, VA, Caroline (Monte) Sheldon of Viroqua, James (Cindy) Wilder of La Farge, Dale (Kim) Wilder of Owatonna, MN, George (Donna) Wilder of La Farge, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five brothers, Von Coggon of La Farge, Sylvester Coggon of La Farge, George Coggon of La Farge, Elza Coggon of La Farge, Martin Coggon of La Farge, sister Rosie Coggon of Prairie du Chien, former husband, Verlin Wilder of Viola, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents, sister Wanetta Bannister, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the La Farge Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Philips officiating. Burial will be held in the Bear Creek Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the La Farge Free Methodist Church on Sunday, March 28, 2010 from 12:30 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM. The Seland-Huston Funeral Home of La Farge is assisting the family with their arrangements.
