Kenneth Allen Anderson, age 75, of Viola, died on Friday, January 28, 2011. He was born In Joliet, Illinois on June 8, 1935, the son of Theodore and Margaret (Swiggert) Anderson. He married the love of his life, Judith Sue Hutchinson on June 21, 1958. Children came along soon after—Jody (Lisa) of Viola, WI, Jack (Lori) of Prairie du Sac, WI, and Jill (Corey) Wehling of Verona, WI, followed by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert, and brother Jay (Darlene).
He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren
as well as his brother Charles (Donna) of Lockport, IL;
and sisters:
Julia Eaker of Rhinelander, WI
and
Cheri (Bud) Smolich of Lockport, IL.
Ken fulfilled his childhood dream of farming when he relocated his family from Illinois to a dairy farm on Sylvan Ridge, where he and Judy milked cows and raised their family from 1971 until 1991. After leaving the farm, he worked at S&S Cycle in Viola until his retirement in 2001. Ken attended LaFarge Free Methodist Church, a faithful servant through his final days.
Ken loved the outdoors—he was a hunter, trapper, and a fisherman. He especially loved fishing for walleye on the waters of Lake Petenwell, and camping there with family and friends. A devoted husband and loving father, he valued an honest day’s work and also valued a good nap. He had a fondness for special four-legged friends—most recently a buddy named Banjo. Ken loved a good practical joke and was known for his sense of humor.
A Celebration of Ken Anderson’s life will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at the LA FARGE FREE METHODIST CHURCH, 214 South Cherry Street. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at 4:00 PM. Burial will be in the Viola Cemetery at a later date.
